What to expect
My experience includes treating sports related injuries such as Ankle sprains and Shin Splints and workplace related problems including Wrist Strains and Tight Neck muscles. I can also provide effective relief from nerve impingement (trapped nerves), Sciatica and Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). I am particularly interested in treating Postural Related Pain through direct intervention and assessment to identify the cause and avoid re-occurrence.
I can also perform postural assessment , this is not usually a separate consultation but can be performed as part of the treatment.
I became a Soft Tissue Therapist after experiencing the benefits myself. I ran my first marathon (London) in my early forties, building up to this with 5 years of street running. I got hooked and regularly compete in marathons, half marathons and 10k events both here and abroad. Along the way I’ve suffered the usual injuries including Achilles strain, sprains, shin splints and other problems. Soft Tissue Therapy worked for me in not only aiding the healing process, but also ensures I remain injury free whilst training for an event.
I studied at the London School of Sports Massage (LSSM) and am qualified to BTEC Level 5 in Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy.
Since qualifying as a Sport and Remedial Massage Therapist, I have begun pursuing further qualifications in Myofacial Release Therapy and Kinesiology (often referred to as Sport Taping).
Qualifications & Insurance
BTEC Level 5 in Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy. I am insured via an Institute of Sport and Remedial Massage approved insurance scheme, underwritten by Zurich, for up to £4M damages.
When I’m not treating people or running I can often be found training with British Military Fitness on Clapham Common and I’m easy to spot; I’m the one wearing the five fingered shoes.
